How much RAM does a Project Zomboid server need?

The rule of thumb: 2GB base plus around 500MB per player. Vanilla duos are fine on 2GB, small groups on 4GB - but mods raise the floor before anyone joins, so mod-heavy servers should start at 6-8GB. Resize instantly from the dashboard if the horde outgrows your tier.

8GB10–16Large workshop collections with a bigger population£20£20Deploy
12GB16–32Big public communities running heavy mod lists£30£30Deploy

Every Project Zomboid plan is priced at a flat £2.50 per GB of RAM per month, and the renewal price is the same as the intro price - the rate you sign up at is the rate you keep.

Player counts assume a moderate mod list. Heavy workshop collections (large map packs, Brita's, vehicle mods) effectively shift every row up one tier - a 4-player heavily modded server belongs on 6GB, not 4GB.

Built for surviving Knox County

Workshop mods, sandbox settings, save uploads, and backups - this is how you died, on your terms.

Steam Workshop Mods

Add workshop IDs and mod IDs in the panel and the server downloads everything automatically - map expansions, vehicle packs, Brita's, and QoL collections included.

Full Sandbox Control

Edit every sandbox setting - zombie population, loot rarity, XP multipliers, water and electricity shutoff - from the panel, before or after your world starts.

Save Uploads

Move an existing co-op or single-player save onto your server via FTP and keep your characters, bases, and looted map exactly as they were.

Automatic Backups

Scheduled save backups with one-click restore - insurance against corruption, a bad mod update, or that one friend who burned down the safehouse.

Whitelist & Admin Tools

Password protection, whitelisting, admin powers, and ban management from the dashboard, plus full server console access for admin commands.

Restart Scheduling

Project Zomboid servers benefit from regular restarts on long sessions. Schedule automatic restarts with player warnings to keep memory usage healthy.
